Four Years – Target 33 Marks

Four Years – Target 33 Marks.

So.. It's finally here. The day i've been waiting for from the moment I got in. So before its all over dead and gone I just want to take some time to reminisce about the 4 year long journey called Engineering.

What a Journey. it has been these 4 years!! It went from curiosity to excitement to fear to depression to lull to carefree to enjoyment and finally ending on a high note.
Although the Journey was  full of ups and downs it was an enjoyable yet boring , tasking yet fruitful, full of hatred yet full of memories and then you say those words which you never thought mid way through this journey that you will be saying this at the end of the four years. " I cant believe I will actually miss this college"
When this Journey  started in 13th September 2008  its finally giving up its momentum and coming to an halt in 7th June 2012..
Let me explain you the emotions that i mentioned above while i was on the Journey called Mechanical  Engineering.

Curiosity : What will the college be like? Compulsory attendance? Crowd? oh yaa Teaching as well?

Excitement : First day of college. Ragging Happens? Infrastructure is sick man! I still remember , I used to write (MMEC) Mahila Mandal Engineering College/ Money Making Engineering  College on my notebooks.. but as the days past I started loving this college.

Fear : Shit first semester. Whats gonna happen. I havent even started. How are these so called VTU papers like? (after 4 years, I still don’t know the spelling of “V” in VTU)

Depression: There i got my first ever (and the last too) BackLog in A.T.D (Applied Thermo Dynamics). BackLog ye kya hota hai ? I am officially allowed to take Log in my Back. 65% in 10th - 68% in 12th and i fail for the first ever time. My dad didn’t talk to me for six whole months neither my mom contacted because of this shit. I was something  like abandoned from home or from everything.  I used to get limited money transfer (2000/month= 1200 Mess + 800 Pocket Money) which used to sucks. *aamdani athhani, kharcha rupayaa*

Lull : This is just not meant to be. Where am i stuck? This is not what i am supposed to be doing. I hate this college.

Carefree : Seriously? I dont give a fu**. Its all bull shit. I'll see what happens. Fu** it. I never sat for 1st internal after 2nd year because we always used to say  yaar, tu tension mat le.. average nhi hua toh staff khud bula kar average dega.. agar wo bhi na sahi toh Fourth internal toh hoga na..!!!

Enjoyment : All clear dudes/dames.. all Clear.. yes yes yes!! Orgasmic..lol..

I always had this infatuation with Machines and getting into Robotics Engineering was my first choice and Automobile and Mechanical so on . I wanted to learn about them. 15 is too early an age to decide what you want to take up as a career. But may be it was my prejudiced and judgmental nature that made me decide that after qualifying AIEEE. I wanted Robotics –they offered Metallurgical-& finally opted Mechanical Engineering in MMEC through CET. May be it was just meant to be. So here i am. Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical. Sounds Good. At least for me!! :D

Maratha Mandal Engineering College was not the college that I would have wanted to do engineering from. But after miserable CET marks i would have accepted anything that comes my way and also heard that MMEC has good staff and Infra-Structure in Mechanical Branch and that`s what college was well known for. So after snatching last seat from Defence Quota I jumped with joy. I was finally going to do Mechanical Engineering.Hurrayy!!

First Year : Complete transformation from the Army School  it was time to attend  Maratha Mandal Engineering College. I'd heard that girls are in each and every field. I got to know that after coming here. The girl - boy ratio was 0.99 -100 (speaking mathematically 51 was my class strength and off course 100 wasn’t the strength and girls cant be in  0.45 ratio against 51, so no girls). First year in any college goes more in socializing than in studying. Getting to know people making your own hang out group. Hitting on somewhat good looking girls cos you know the couple of girls who are actually very good looking will already have 10 guys lined up after them. Bunking lectures was fun in first year and obtained some kind of thrill. Giving proxies working for college festivals building a rapport with seniors. The freshers party. The do`s and don`ts of the college.

Second Year : You feel like you own the college now. You are officially a senior. You want to rag. You want to catch the first year girls YOUNG. In first year we liked the 4th year crowd. In second year we start liking the FE crowd. Things like." Apne batch mai aisi ladkiya kyu nahi thi" become a common hearing.
At the same time the good friends in first year become best friends by the end of second year and lovers eventually. This is when the fun starts. The gossip come into action and the emotional atyachaar begins. The back biting, The group-ism (so called Kannada-Marathi riots), Immature.

Third Year: This is the year when you actually start studying a bit. Because the excitement is gone. The fun is over. You know longer want to dress traditionally on tradition day and no longer give roses and chocolates to the girl who has another 100 guys giving her the same red rose. You get yourself in random college committees just for the sake of getting certificates. You no more want to be in the professors bad books. All you want is 60% and it had become or something like chasing for Four Years and Target 33 Marks (what i had heard from lecturers-the myth behind 33 marks “tum bus 33 score kar lo, evaluator kaise se bhi jugaad karke usse 35 kar hi deta hai”). But also this is the time when I made great friends. I got to learn about people. I got to know people. I realized who I am supposed to be with and who I want to keep just as an acquaintance. You become closer to a few pals. You draw yourself away from some.

Fourth Year : Everything is Happening. Final Year. GATE-PGCET- PLACEMENTS(except for Mechanical Branch). Life is on fast track and before you realize your four years are over. You still want to sit on the last bench and talk about totally random stuff , gossip and curse the professor. You still want to dictate Lab Manuals and people start throwing chalks at you. You still want to doodle on your last page of your book and fill it up with your signature (especially, making of those zeta " ΞΆ " Symbols in Control Engg classes of Dr.Vilas Sondur). You still want to give proxies and bunk lectures and xerox assignments. You still want to talk about the entire world. You still want to sit on the last bench of the classroom with that particular person even though you know first 5 benches are totally empty. As BJP used to call " Brain F***kers I know you dont want to study". You again want to dress up for traditional day , formal day thinking that you might not get to see them again and click thousands of pictures(off course for Facebook ) for memories.

I miss my Staff my lecturers my teachers and thier priety funny style statements..

Prof Mashyal:  Lijhan to me ..!!! I will give you sufficient time to right but first
Lijhan to me!!
Prof BJP: Dont come to class by having Puri bhaji. Most of the time you all sleep only.!!
Prof Ayachit: aye.. why are you talking in middle middle..!!
Prof Raghavendra: We will continue it tomorrow..!!
Prof Jagdish: Class bhaith k kya karoge!!
Prof Kitturkar: okay okay okay okay !!
Prof Wadegeri: Yes!! Yes!!
Prof Naveed: Definitely!!

Regrets Guilts, Mistakes, Disappointments and Sarcasm aside, you learn a lot. You remember some professors who made stuff easy for you. You hate those professors who made life hell for you. You learn people. You learn Life.

I would like to thank so many people for making my journey worthwhile. I will take back some brilliant moments I've spent in those Birthday parties that we've thrown for each other. The few other things that I would like to thank are

1. My Cellphone -  I got this in the start of my engineering and since then has been very important and special I don't feel like giving it away for a new one.
4.Bag - It felt empty when i started coming to college without my bag and with just one book in the final year.Somehow get emotionally attached to these.

5.Lawaris Pens - I've never purchased any pen not even once in 4 years. I use to steal them from my friends if not stealing then changing refills from their pens was my all time stealing funda. “pata nhi kitne logo k Pen maare h meine” Lawaris  Pens  made me score the much needed 65's in my papers.

6. MOM - DAD – Prof Naved –Prof Mashyal & Dr Vilas Sondur - Dr. Vinita Sondur - Thank you for every little thing I shared/moments  with you.

7.Ojas `11 and Ojas`12 -

8.Maratha Mandal Engg College -
After all this college gave me a direction. A new path. It is ending for a new beginning. It gave me knowledge. It has taken from me 4 years and given me something about it that I'll never forget these years. It was MEANT TO BE. It all starts from where it is ending.

To end this longest post ever I just wanted to collect as much as  I can of my 4 years. Thanking is a part of me. I believe never regret anything that made you smile. I just wish all the luck love happiness to everyone and I hope when i see them 10 years down the line on the same street It would not take me a second before i go and hug them. Everyone's starting a new thing. A new life. A new day. A new start. Starting from scratch. Starting from where they left off. So its kinda nostalgic. If you dont get attached in 4 years you are a robot. So its emotional. Its frightening to imagine things no longer being the same.

Thirsty for Thirty

Thirsty for Thirty

30 Things You Must Do Before You Turn 30 by Nitish (mail me)

Worrying about life is a lot like coleslaw : It sucks, it’s an ugly mound of crap that somehow shows up on all of our plates, people who swear by it still know deep down that it sucks

I’m 23. I worry about life — decisions, happiness, legacy, Pride, Dignity, Self Respect and etc. — a lot more than I used to. And you know what? I’m tired of it. I know there are many people who are almost 23/are 23/were 23 who are tired of it too. It’s time we had much, much more fun.

So I’m sitting here, writing this list to myself … of great stuff to pile on my plate to drown out the Raayata HAHAHA!!. Of things to get done before I’m doughy, “Daddy,” and dead. And I’m having the time of my life.
Consider the below an aggressive bucket list for your average “young-ass old person. It’s a salute to enjoying and exploring your most formative adult years — it is wide-ranging, experimental, and chaotic, yet thoughtful, passionate, and precautionary, as these upcoming years will hopefully be. Enjoy, in somewhat random order:

1. Be very alone for at least 3 months.
New place, new environment, new situation, no close friends. Live alone, hang out alone often. Don’t even dare to contact your Family-Friends I mean just cut off from your social life-social world. Go somewhere so that your day-to-day is spent mostly away from those that you grew up with, went to school with, etc. You are around close friends lost of your life through your 20s … What are you like outside of that, left to your own devices?

2. Do something sexually taboo.
Not because I condone any specific taboo sex acts in particular. I’m just saying, if you don’t think your future spouse or partner would be down, probably best to do it now. Your spouse will probably accept "

3. Swim with great whites.
Sharks, Fish, Dolphins or Gosling or whoever. You can be in the cage. But look deep into the eyes of a nonhuman who wants to rip you apart and kill and eat you. Good perspective to have. It'll also help you if you want to go into politics.

4. Try your dream job.
Or as close as you can get to it. Do it on the side, do it once per week, but do it. If it doesn’t affect your happiness, it probably isn’t your dream.

5. Take a standalone interest class.
Learn a new language, a technical skill, a creative outlet, a new type of exercise ... find one that's affordable, take it on winter Mondays, whatever. Great way to give you non-monetary goals to achieve, and a new reason to get up in the A.M.

6. Get a Tattoo.
Make sure that whatever you're going to get tattooed is something that you put a lot of thought into ( not something like my friend has tattooed on his neck so called Tribal Tattoo n thats too permanent.. Useless Mayur ). It's one thing to remember tattoos last a lot longer than romance. Don't get tattooed for anyone else, get tattooed for you

7. Jump out of a plane or jump off a bridge-Building or Bungy Jumps.
If not literally but figuratively. Face your worst fears. Tell 1 person you've always had a crush on (and who you know is out of your league) that they oughta give you a crack at ‘em. Demand a raise. Something like that.

8. Plan at least the outline of your retirement.
Or at least, plan to plan it. I'm all for having fun right now, but one month of partying could one day be a minivan — 100% electric — for your grandkids to pee in and your robot to vacuum up.

9. Re-read books from your high school reading list.
We probably couldn’t grasp their profundity back then, and we probably wish we had time to read them now like Nagraj- comics & all. Lots of them are about life discoveries and phenomena we’re currently experiencing. I just re-read Physics and Solve Mathematics books … and yeah, I missed a lot last time.

10. Be a mentor.
To younger people. In whatever capacity you can, educate on what you already know this early in life. You may think you know nothing, but to a younger person, whether or not they want to hear it, it’s probably gold.

11. Get some mentors.
Ones that you aspire to be like in the future. Who you want to be. Then, get some who you don’t want to be. Figure out what they did right, or what they messed up. Take them to dinner. Then, go to the bathroom right when the bill is coming (that reminds me about Shoyeb in  C.C.D. HAHAHAH!! poor  Mayur !! )

12. Shopping.
Shop like wake up sid.!

13. Get in crazy crazy nasty shape.
Older you get, harder to do. Hard to do when you travel for work, hard to do with a kid, hard to do when your high school graduation photos look like someone else. So why not see what potential you have now? Eat some plants, lift some stuff, run somewhere, get on a machine to nowhere, whatever. Define "crazy crazy nasty," an ambitious goal that's attainable for you. It’s a goal you can see and feel, and lessons from it often translate well to career or other goals. Oh, and try boxing and Shooting (was my dream when i used to watch my dad boxing & shooting bullets live ).

14. Make a product and sell it from scratch.
Take an idea and turn it into a product. Make little from the Wire or Junk or anything and sell it. you`ll seem to be happy and fulfilled (though in that wise, peaceful, defeatist kind of way), right? But anyway, the product can be tangible or intangible, professional or sloppy ...  just know that you made it, and try to sell it to anyone i.e your friend-firm so on.

15. Own a motorcycle.
Not gonna tell you to ride one.  cause even i don`t know to ride it!! shame on  me !! :-D :-D

16. Go to most continents
Figure out how to get to some, and get there. And get out of the 1st world safety net. Yes, long enough to have people write on your wall confirming that they “miss youuuuuu!” and long enough to add it to your resume ... but then spend some more time. Time actually learning and adapting. Measure in months, minimum.

17. Fall in love > 0 times.
Not necessarily productive in every case, but CAFEDAY (C.C.D). I hate C.C.D with a passion ... and I go on C.C.D every time I'm near one. Know what I mean?

18. Put out a song.
Make a song, album, or music video, alone or with your friends. Music holds within it a legitimacy and creative right that other mediums don’t have to the same extent.
(Wish I could PASTE/PUT my song Mere Warga here)

19. Visit one of the world’s tallest mountain ranges or you had a dream about during school days/Childhood.
Any view from that high up, when it’s that quiet and peaceful, is at once surreal and serenade..

20. Live minimally.
Burn your Desires. Wear torn shirt/tshirt-Jeans, Eat and Drink in low profile shop, Carry dirty bag school/college/office. because sometimes being simple teaches us every little thing.

21: Work at a Startup, and at a Stopdown.
Young success and young failure both teach us youngins a ton. It’s great to try to hit it big, but since we’re living in a revolutionary startup boom, many are bound to fail. Don’t be afraid of that; pick one whose mission aligns with your passions, and check it out for awhile.

22: Go to a world/Country-famous party attraction.
Do it now and you'll get that crazy college feeling. Do it in your 30s / 40s and you'll get that crazy "can't believe I thought I'd have fun coming back to college ... I feel so weird" feeling.

23: Get a custom suit or dress, somehow.
They make you feel good about yourself. Once you can really afford the good ones, it’s already too late. (Probably not like this but you know what i mean!! )

24: Grow some plants.
Learn how to take care of stuff  before you have kids. Nurture them, watch them grow up to be beautiful, and protect them from pests — like bad asses with no manners covered in tattoos — piercing, I meant weeds -bugs and what not. :-D

25: Insult somebody very bad in crowd for their deeds.
Insult somebody so bad that he/she shouldn`t even think of saying sorry for their behavior-deeds because at some point, your sorry doesn`t matters, is it?.

26: Pick a long weekend, and don't stop until you are a much better person or Shout out loud till your throat dries up.
Offcoursealone and in peacefull place!!

27: Learn to cook.
I couldn’t cook until 2008. My uncle always said a woman thinks it’s sexy when a man can cook. 2008 got real sexy.

28: Do you want to do..!! Damage-steal-Fight-Run away.!!! Feel free to do anything strickly anything!!.
Bad advice, looks fun. Never did it, I swear :) finally you got the power.!! remember the hulk from Avengers .. Smash!!

29: Write a letter to yourself in X years.
If you don’t think it’d be the most fascinating thing ever to write yourself a letter (by hand, not on Gmail, because you’ll be too tempted to look) to be opened in 10 years, than you suck as bad as coleslaw. My 10th grade teacher had us write letters to our future selves, to be opened after we graduated high school. He mailed them to us 5 years later. I was so shocked at what I was pondering about at 15, and at how much more depth I had than I could remember, that I stared at the short letter and re-read it for several minutes.
(Probably gonna upload it here after i m done with writing it to me)

30: Do all this before you turn 30
Do all this before 30, atleast for you children so that  you can tell them “ when I was at your age, I enjoyed my life to the fullest plus never let myself down and never felt regretted!! “

I am on the way to my 30, are you??
so, whats your position in 30? How many you have completed?  Please comment!!!
